Our collection covers UK social life in its broadest sense, from the 1940's and earlier. It includes the family, life in the home and at work, domestic appliances, leisure time, shops and shopping, the health system, the car, etc..

The footage covers all types of industrial locations and manufacturing processes, during World War 2 and subsequently, as well as fascinating footage which shows the development of office technology (telephone, telex, fax, etc.) and the changes in daily office life and practice over the last sixty years.
